GOBI MANCHURIAN

Ingredients to make GOBI MANCHURIAN

  • 1 cauliflower cut into medium sized florets
  • 3/4 cup maida
  • 1/2 tbsp finely chopped ginger
  • 1/2 tbsp finely chopped garlic
  • 2 tbsp Soya sauce
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Ajinomoto
  • 2-3 chopped green chillies
  • 1 capsicum cut into cubes
  • 2 tbsp chopped carrots
  • 2 tbsp chopped spring onions
  • 1 tbsp Corn flour
  • salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • oil for frying

How to make GOBI MANCHURIAN

  1. Put cauliflower florets in hot water with salt. Let it remain soaked for 2 minutes. Drain the water.
  2. Make a smooth batter of maida, corn flour, chopped ginger, garlic, salt- pepper using water.
  3. Heat oil in a heavy bottomed kadhai on a medium flame. Dip cauliflower florets in the batter and deep fry until it gets golden brown and take out on a tissue paper.
  4. Heat some oil in a pain. Add chopped green chilies,ginger,garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
  5. Add spring onions and sauté for another one minute.
  6. Add capsicum ,carrots and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Now add ajinomoto, soya sauce,vinegar and tomato sauce to it. Mix well.
  8. Add corn flour mixed with water to the mixture and stir continuously till it resumes boiling. Boil till the gravy becomes shiny.
  9. Then add fried cauliflower florets . Boil for two more minutes and remove.
  10. Garnish with green coriander and serve hot with noodles or rice.

My Tip:

The batter should be smooth without any lumps. Batter should neither be too thick nor too thin.
