Khoya Paneer

Ingredients to make Khoya Paneer

  • 250 grams paneer
  • 100 gram khoya
  • 1 cup green peas
  • 1 capsicum
  • 10-12 cashew nuts
  • 1 tbsp melon seeds
  • 2 onion
  • 5-6 garlic loves
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 2-3 green chillies
  • 2-3 tomatoes [made into a paste]
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp shahi paneer masala
  • 1 tbsp kashmiri red chilly powder
  • 1/2 cup fresh cream
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • salt

How to make Khoya Paneer

  1. Soak the cashew nuts & melon seeds in hot water for 2 hours, and then strain, grind them together into a fine paste, also make a paste of the onion, keep aside.
  2. Now heat about 2 tbsp of oil along with the butter in a heavy bottomed kadhai, add the onion paste and saute till golden brown. Now add the ginger garlic paste and saute further.
  3. Then add the powdered masalas , followed by the tomato paste. Now cook till the masala leaves oil and then add the green peas. Shallow fry the paneer pieces in another pan and dip them in some warm water, squeeze the excess water out and keep aside.
  4. Stir and cook further. Then add sal, water and give it a stir. Boil and then add the khoya. Then add the cubes capsicum and cook further, then add the fried paneer.
  5. Finally add the cream and milk into the gravy, check for seasoning and serve with some roti or rice.

My Tip:

Don't cook for a long time after adding milk and cream
