Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Gram Flour (besan): 1 cup
  2. Sugar : 1 cup
  3. Desi Ghee : 2 tbsp
  4. Refined Oil : 1 ½ cup
  5. Baking Soda: A Pinch
  6. Lemon Juice : ½ tbsp
  7. Orange Color : A pinch or two
  8. Water : ½ cup (For sugar syrup) & ½
  9. Melon Seeds: According to taste

Instructions

  1. Take 1 cup of besan in a vessel, add a pinch of soda & desi ghee. Now mix it well.
  2. Add a little water in the mixture for a smooth batter. It should neither be thick nor runny, and should fall easily.
  3. Now heat oil in a pan, once the oil is hot cook the boondis on a low flame. Do not overcook. ( I make boondis with the help of perforated ladle, which is available in every home).
  4. Take out all the boondis in a kitchen towel so that it absorbs the extra oil.
  5. To make the syrup, take 1 cup of sugar in a pan & add water. Add in lemon juice & Cardamom powder. Cook the sugar syrup till one thread consistency is obtained.
  6. In the meanwhile, take the boondis and grind it slightly for 1 or 2 minutes.
  7. Next, add them directly into the warm sugar syrup. Stir and mix well. the boondis should get softened in the sugar syrup.
  8. Add the magaz/melon seeds and black cardamom seeds. Mix this well.
  9. Apply some oil on your palms and shape the motichoor ladoos, the mixture would be warm when preparing the ladoos.
  10. Serve instantly for best taste.
