Sesame Sticks

Ingredients to make Sesame Sticks

  • maida flour - 1/2 cup
  • Wheat flour - 1/4 cup
  • sesame seeds - 3 tsp
  • ghee - 1/4 cup melted ghee or oil
  • water as required
  • A pinch of baking powder
  • A pinch of salt or add 1-2 teaspoon sugar if you want it sweet.
  • oil - 1/2 cup

How to make Sesame Sticks

  1. In a mixing bowl mix together Sesame Seeds, salt, flour and ghee.
  2. Rub the flour well in between the palms to incorporate the ghee well.
  3. Add water little by little and mix the flour to make a smooth dough. Cover and set aside for 5-10 mins.
  4. Now take medium size portions of the dough and roll to balls.
  5. Roll the ball to roti shape, not very thick nor thin.
  6. Cut them into strips. Make ready all the remaining balls in the same process.
  7. Heat oil in a frying pan.
  8. When the oil is hot, reduce the heat and drop the strips and fry them in medium heat till golden and crisp.
  9. Drain them in absorbent paper and serve as it is or with any sauce or dipping of your choice.
