Bajra Fritters

Ingredients to make Bajra Fritters

  • bajra seeds - 2 cups
  • gram flour - 2 tbsp
  • yoghurt - 1/2 cup
  • onion - 1
  • carrot -1
  • tomato -1
  • green chilly - 1-2
  • cilantro - 2 tbsp
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ghee/ Oil for cooking

How to make Bajra Fritters

  1. Clean bajra and soak in water for at least 4-6 hours
  2. Drain and grind in an electronic blender to get a sandy mixture
  3. Add gram flour, yoghurt and water and mix to get a smooth batter. Keep aside
  4. Finely chop all veggies and cilantro. Grate the carrot and add to the batter
  5. Let the batter soak for 15-20 mins to half an hour
  6. Heat a non- stick tawa/ pan and add a tsp of ghee
  7. Pour a ladle-ful of the batter and spread it to a pancake consistency
  8. Let it cook until brown, flip and cook the other side until brown. Add ghee if required
  9. Serve hot with ketchup/ chutney
