Ingredients to make Kid Fattening [healthy] Cookies

  • Sath Maavu powder/ multigrain flour - 1 cup
  • Whole Wheat Flour - 1/4 cup
  • Cooking butter - 100 gms
  • Jaggery powder - 3/4 cup
  • Cinnamon powder and nutmeg powder - 1/4 tsp

How to make Kid Fattening [healthy] Cookies

  1. Mix the butter and jaggery with you hands, so that the jaggery combines into the butter and the butter is fluffy. This will take around 8-10 mins. Make sure that the butter is neither cold, not melted, just at room temperature
  2. Sieve the flours and spice powders and add to the butter, one spoonful at a time, bringing it together into a crumbly dough. The dough will be super moist owing to the presence of butter
  3. Cling wrap the dough and refrigerate it for half an hour to an hour, so that the cookies do not change their shape while baking
  4. Preheat the oven and line the baking tray with parchment paper
  5. Take the dough out from the refrigerator. Tear lemon sized balls from the dough, roll in your palm and flatten them into a cookie shape and place on the baking tray
  6. Bake for 25 -30 mins at 170 degrees centigrade. The cue here is to check for browning of the cookies. The baking time varies based on the size, thickness and dough of the cookies
