#Steamed Lentil Basket with Masala Corn

Ingredients to make #Steamed Lentil Basket with Masala Corn

  • chana dal 1 cup
  • methi leaves 1/2 cup
  • ginger grated 1 tbsp
  • green chillies 2
  • salt 1 tsp
  • red chilli powder 1/2 tsp
  • Carom seeds 1/2 tsp
  • For masala corns:
  • Sweet corn kernels 1 cup
  • butter 1 tbsp
  • salt 1/3 tsp
  • Chaat masala 1 tsp
  • lemon juice 1 tbsp
  • mint sprigs for garnishing

How to make #Steamed Lentil Basket with Masala Corn

  1. Soak Chana dal for 4 hours.
  2. Drain and grind without water.
  3. Add chopped methi leaves, grated ginger, chopped green chilli, salt, red chilli powder and carom seeds. Mix well.
  4. Dal mix should be stiff enough to handle. If it is somehow watery add 2 tbsp semolina.
  5. Take small muffin moulds. Grease them and line them with dal mix.
  6. Steam these moulds for 10 minutes.
  7. Cool and demould.
  8. Fill these steamed cups with masala corns and serve. This steamed cups can be further baked for 10 minutes to make them crispy.
  9. Masala Corn: Boil corn kernels till soft (around 10 -12 minutes)
  10. Drain and toss in butter well.
  11. Add seasoning and lemon juice. Mix well.
  12. Fill in lentil baskets and serve.
