Ingredients to make Idly Italiano

  • Idly rawa - 2 cup
  • urad dal - 1 cup
  • Green pesto sauce - 2 tbsp
  • Red pesto sauce - 2 tbsp
  • Black olives (chopped) - 3 tbsp
  • salt as per taste
  • Chopped pineapples - 1 cup
  • Diced bell peppers - 1 cup
  • butter as needed
  • oregano 1 tsp
  • chilly flakes 1 tsp

How to make Idly Italiano

  1. Soak the Urad Dal and idly rawa. Grind the Urad Dal with water and mix the rawa into it. Whisk the batter and leave it overnight to rise.
  2. Next morning, add salt to the batter and divide it into 3 parts.
  3. To two of the parts, add the green pesto and red pesto respectively.
  4. To the last part, add the olives.
  5. Pour them into idly moulds and steam them. Now demould them and cut them into pieces.
  6. Insert the idly pieces along with chopped pineapples and diced bell peppers into skewers.
  7. Sprinkle oregano and chilli flakes on them and pan fry them with little butter.
