ABOUT Bada with Tomato Coriander Chutney RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. urad dal - 250 gm
  2. Semolina - 100 gm
  3. Salt to taste
  4. Baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  5. Green chilly - 1 or 2
  6. some coriander leaves
  7. Ginger - 1/2 inch
  8. Jeera - 1 tsp
  9. Roughly chopped onion medium size - 2
  10. Oil for Deep frying
  11. For chutney-
  12. Tomato big size - 2
  13. Green chilly - 3
  14. Half bunch coriander leaves
  15. Garlic cloves - 5 to 6
  16. Salt to taste
  17. Lime juice - 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. Soak urad dal for 3 hrs, after 3 hrs drain the water, wash urad dal, then grind it in thick consistency.
  2. In a big bowl take urad dal paste, semolina, roughly chopped onion, green chilli, coriander leaves, grated Ginger, cumin seeds, Salt and baking soda.
  3. Mix it properly.
  4. Heat oil for deep frying.
  5. Take some paste in your wet hands, make bada in flat shape, then slowly & carefully put in hot Oil.
  6. Fry all the badas till they are crispy and golden in colour.
  7. For chutney -
  8. Take all these ingredients for chutney in a mixer jar and grind it.
