Ingredients to make Sambar Flavoured Vegetable Mini Wheat Rawa Idlis

  • wheat Rawa/ Sooji - 2 cups
  • 1 1/2 cup curd
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 1 small grated carrot/ any other vegetables of your choice - beans/ peas
  • 1/4 tsp sambhar powder
  • salt to taste
  • For tempering:
  • 1 tsp ghee
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 3-4 sprigs of coriander leaves finely chopped

How to make Sambar Flavoured Vegetable Mini Wheat Rawa Idlis

  1. Roast the rawa till light brown.
  2. Add curd, milk, salt to the roasted rawa while hot and set aside for 10-15 minutes till it fluffs up.
  3. After 15 minutes add grated carrots, sambhar powder and mix. If too dry add a little milk, it should be a dhokla batter like consistency.
  4. Pour in mini idli containers and steam for 10 minutes till cooked.
  5. Temper and serve with chutney.

My Tip:

Serve along with green chutney or podi powder. For green chutney - You can take 1/2 cup coconut, 1 green chilly, 1/4 bunch coriander, a small ball of tamarind/ 1 tsp lime juice, salt sugar as per taste. Grind and serve.
