Ingredients to make Veggie roll(Fast food style)

  • For tikki:
  • potatoes - 3
  • carrot minced - 1 small
  • onion minced - 1 small
  • coriander leaves finely chopped - a few
  • green chillies minced - 1 or 2
  • Bread crumbs - 1/2 cup
  • salt to taste
  • Chaat masala - as per taste
  • Garam masala - as per taste
  • oil for frying
  • For preparing roll:
  • maida - 2 cups
  • butter - 2 tbsp
  • sugar - 1/4 tsp
  • salt - to taste
  • oil
  • For finishing roll:
  • Mayonnaise - 1/2 cup
  • Sliced onions
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • tomato ketchup (optional)
  • Dry garlic chutney

How to make Veggie roll(Fast food style)

  1. Boil, peel and mash potatoes. Transfer them to a mixing bowl.
  2. Add salt and minced Vegetables. Mix well.
  3. Now add chaat masala or garam masala as per your choice and mix well.
  4. Add bread crumbs for binding.
  5. Make equal sized balls and shape them into tikkis.
  6. Roll on bread crumbs and shallow fry on a tawa on both sides till golden brown adding oil.
  7. Tikkis are ready now.
  8. For making roll:
  9. Knead maida adding sugar, salt, butter and little water. Make a dough.
  10. Make equal sized balls and roll them into thin rotis.
  11. Heat a tawa and fry the rotis on both sides.
  12. For finishing roll:
  13. Take a roti. Spread mayonnaise all over the roti liberally. Place two tikkis at the center of the roti. Place onion and tomato slices. Now carefully roll the rotis and stick the ends using maida paste. Serve immediately with tomato ketchup and dry garlic chutney.
