Ingredients to make veg shami kebabs

  • kala chana 500 gms
  • onions 4 +2 chopped
  • dry red chilli 7-8
  • ginger 1 inch
  • garlic 4
  • cloves 4
  • peppercorns
  • black cardamom
  • dalchini
  • salt
  • javitri
  • green chillies
  • coriander
  • chaat masala
  • red chilli powder
  • garam masala
  • lemon

How to make veg shami kebabs

  1. Soak the kala chana for 6 hours or overnight.
  2. Add the onions, garlic, ginger, whole spices including black cardamom, cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon and peppercorn and salt into a pressure cooker and 1 inch water with the kala chana
  3. Cook for 6-8 whistles. Cool and separate the water. Grid this in a mixer, add water if you must
  4. Now chop 2 onions, green chillies, coriander, ginger ( every thing finally chopped).
  5. Mix into the paste. Add chat masala and red chilli powder if needed. Add garam masala powder and 1 lemon juice and mix them well.
  6. Make tikkis and shallow fry on a non stick pan. Serve hot
