ABOUT MOONG DAAL KE PAKODE RECIPE

Moong daal ke pakode is one of the famous street food snack also known as laddoo karare in north india served with green mint chutney and grated radish with some chaat masala.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 cup soaked split skinless green moong daal
  2. 1-2 chopped green chillies
  3. 2 tsp chopped onions (Optional)
  4. 1 tsp chopped ginger
  5. Asafoetida a pinch
  6. Salt to taste
  7. Coarsly ground black pepper to taste
  8. 2 tbsp Freshly chopped green coriander
  9. Baking soda a pinch
  10. Oil for Deep frying

Instructions

  1. Drain excess water from soaked moong daal with the help of strainer. Now grind moong daal in a grinder and make a course paste. Add little water if required.
  2. Now convert daal mixture in a bowl. Add chopped green chillies,onions, ginger, asafoetida, salt, black pepper, green coriander,baking soda.
  3. Mix batter well for 3-4 minutes as this will make the batter light.
  4. Heat oil in a heavy bottomed kadhai on a medium flame. To check the temperature of oil drop a piece of mixture in oil. If it comes to the surface immediately then oil is sufficiently hot.
  5. Using your fingers drop small amounts of batter in a hot oil and deep fry in small batches until it gets golden brown.
  6. Take out fried pakode on a tissue paper. Serve hot with mint chutney or tomato ketchup & grated radish.
