ABOUT Spicy Prawn Fries RECIPE

This special prawn dry fry is my Mom's super recipe. It has a distinct and delicious flavor. The prawns are just perfectly cooked and the right blend of spices makes it lip smacking . Below is how to prepare this interesting dish.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Prawns 200 g
  2. Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  3. Red chili powder 1 and 1/2 tsp
  4. Salt as required
  5. Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  6. Finely chopped onion 2 tbp
  7. Vegetable oil 4 tbsp
  8. Crushed fennel seeds 1 tsp
  9. Water 1/2 cup

Instructions

  1. Clean the prawns and remove the nerves from back of the prawns.
  2. Marinate the cleaned prawns with turmeric, red chili powder, salt and ginger garlic paste. Refrigerate it for at least 1 hour.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and saute the onion lightly. 1 minute will do.
  4. Next add the marinated prawns and saute for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Now add little water and cook with lid on for about 5 minutes.
  6. Now remove the lid and let all the water evaporate, and let the prawns fry nicely.
  7. Turn the sides and see to that it doesn't get burnt. Add little oil if required.
  8. 2 minutes before putting the flame off, add the crushed fennel seeds and mix well.
  9. Serve hot.
