Cheesy whole wheat buns

Ingredients to make Cheesy whole wheat buns

  • wheat flour 250 gm (2cups)
  • Instant yeast 1/2 tsp
  • sugar 1 tsp
  • salt as reqd
  • Milk plus water 1 cup plus or minus 1-2 tbsp
  • olive oil 2 tbsp
  • Mozzarella cheese as reqd
  • spring onions finely chopped 1/2 cup
  • butter 1--2 tsp

How to make Cheesy whole wheat buns

  1. Mix wheat flour, salt, sugar and yeast well. Add the milk--water mixture and combine well.
  2. Add olive oil and knead well for 10--12 minutes till u get a soft elastic dough.
  3. Keep it in an oiled bowl covered with a cling film till it doubles in size ( roughly an hour ).
  4. Meanwhile, finely chop the spring onions. Add some butter and salt into it.
  5. Gently punch the dough and divide into equal size balls. ( my dough weighed 499 gm, so I got 10 balls of approximately 50 gm each )
  6. Keep the balls in an oiled tray or a tray lined with parchment paper. Make incisions on the balls and stuff the spring onion mixture into it.
  7. Top these with shredded or finely cut cheese. Keep these covered loosely for 30--35 minutes.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 25--30 minutes or till u get a nice golden crust on top.
  9. Cool and serve with dip, sauce or chutney.

My Tip:

Serve it hot. Can change the filling as your liking.

Very tempting... how to replace instant Yeast with a dry yeast....
