About Spinach soup Recipe

This is an healthy and nutritious soup. The richness of cream in the soup makes it all the more tasty.

Spinach soup

Ingredients to make Spinach soup

  • 2 ½ cup chopped spinach
  • 2 tbsp cream
  • ½ tsp salt or to taste
  • ĵ tsp pepper powder
  • 1tbsp butter
  • 2 cups water
  • 2tbsp cornflour dissolved in half cup milk

How to make Spinach soup

  1. Wash spinach leaves thoroughly and chop coarsely.
  2. Boil the chopped spinach with water in pressure cooker for two to three whistles high flame and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Let it cool. Now puree the spinach in a blender.
  4. Sieve the puree through a strainer and keep aside.
  5. In a heavy bottomed vessel add butter and the spinach puree.
  6. Now add the cornflour and milk mixture.
  7. Keep stirring and add cream.
  8. Add salt, pepper powder and cook.
  9. Simmer for five minutes till ready

My Tip:

My secret of getting the fresh flavoured bright green soup is to cook half the spinach for depth of flavour, then add remaining half raw spinach while grinding.
