Ingredients to make Kancha kadali bhaja (raw banana fry)

  • Raw banana 2
  • Small patato optional
  • turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • chilli powder 1/2 teasp
  • salt as per taste
  • urad dal 1 tablesp
  • Dry red chilli 2
  • Curry leave few
  • mustard 1tea sp
  • One Small onion

How to make Kancha kadali bhaja (raw banana fry)

  1. Wash and peel bananas.
  2. Cut into half then cut thin slices like, you cut for chips, not necessarily be very thin but not too thick too. peel and cut potatoes into thin slices.
  3. Hit a kadai. Add 2 table spoon mustard oil.
  4. When oil is hot, add mustard seeds , then add urad dal and dry red chili.
  5. After a second when mustard seeds crackle and urad dal slightly change colour add onion and stir.
  6. Add curry leaves.
  7. When onions change colour add banana and patatos slices.
  8. Add turmeric powder,chili powder and salt . Maintain the flame at medium heat.
  9. Cover and cook, stir in between.
  10. Banana will be soft within 5 to 8 minutes .Keep the flame a little high and fry them till they are little crispy. Serve hot as a side dish with steamed rice and dal.
