Ingredients to make Illish Maach

  • Hilsha fish 4 pieces
  • mustard oil for fry 2 tbs
  • salt to taste
  • Tumeric powder 1 tsp
  • For gravy make a paste with below mentioned ingredients
  • cashew nuts 5 nos
  • raisins 5 nos
  • Kasorimethi 2 tsp
  • Oregano 1 tsp
  • parsley leaves 1 tsp
  • tomato 1 nos
  • Green chilli 2 nos slit
  • coconut 2 tbs scraped
  • sugar 1/2 tsp
  • curd 2 tbs
  • mustard seeds 1 sp

How to make Illish Maach

  1. Marinate the fish with salt and turmeric powder for 5 minutes.
  2. Fry the fish pieces till light brown in colour.
  3. Then set aside.
  4. Make a fine paste all above the ingredients.
  5. Then add 1 cup water.
  6. Heat another pan pour this mixture and fried fish cook it for 7 minutes add salt , sugar to taste.
  7. Garnish with chillies ,serve with plain hot steamed rice.
