A sweet dish made of broken wheat, coconut milk, milk and jaggery

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. broken wheat - 1/2 cup
  2. jaggery / palm sugar - 1/2 cup
  3. coconut milk - 1/2 cup
  4. milk - 1/4 cup
  5. cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
  6. grated coconut - 2 tsp
  7. cashewnuts - 5 - 6
  8. ghee - 2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Soak broken wheat for 1 hour . If its fine (small size) broken wheat, then you don't have to soak it, you can directly cook.
  2. Pressure cook by adding 1 1/2 cup of water and give it 3 whistles . If its fine (small size) broken wheat, then just give it a whistle.
  3. Heat a vessel with ghee and add cashews , grated coconut
  4. Fry till the coconut becomes golden brown in color. Switch off the flame and keep it aside
  5. Crush the jaggery
  6. Heat a vessel and add the crushed jaggery with a cup of water
  7. Once the jaggery dissolved in water, filter it to remove impurities if any
  8. Boil the filtered jaggery water for 2 - 3 minutes
  9. Add the cooked broken wheat and give it a boil
  10. Add milk , coconut milk and cardamom powder and cook it for 4 - 5 mins.
  11. If you want more sweet, you can add sugar Finally add the fried cashews and coconut and switch off the flame.

Nice one dear. You also can replace Jaggery with dates, try once. I like Daliya kheer
