Masoor Ghost Rice

Ingredients to make Masoor Ghost Rice

  • 250 grams masoor dal
  • 1/kg Mutton
  • 3 medium onions
  • 3 medium tomatoes
  • 2 tblspn ginger garlic paste
  • salt to taste
  • 1-2 tspn garam masala powfered(black cardomom cinnamon cloves black pepper and star anise)
  • 1 tblspn red chilli powder
  • 1 tspn cummin (roasted) powder
  • 250 grams rice ( basmati tukda)
  • 2 tblspn oil

How to make Masoor Ghost Rice

  1. Soak Masoor Dal after good wash
  2. Clean mutton and apply salt and ginger garlic paste ,keep aside
  3. Chop onions and tomatoes fine
  4. Heat oil in pressure cooker saute onions till golden brown
  5. Add salt turmeric and tomatoes
  6. Saute well and now add the spices
  7. Mix well and add mutton with ginger garlic marinade
  8. Cook for 15 minutes keep pressure in for 5 minutes
  9. Open cooker and add the soaked Masoor dal mix well and give 10 minutes pressure again
  10. Keep pessure till it lasts
  11. Soak rice just five minutes before cooking
  12. Drain rice of the water and add exact double the measure of water & salt cook 8-10 minute
  13. Once rice is done place on the plate
  14. Open pressure cooker check mutton and dal well mixed
  15. Now on bed of rice pour sum masoor gosht
  16. Enjoy with your choice of salad
  17. Enjoy hot

My Tip:

You can cook mutton and keep and mix masoor dal 20 Minutes before meal so they blend well
