This is one of my mom's recipes and i absolutely adore it, i make these at home for my loved ones.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Idly/Dosa batter
  2. For coconut pooranam
  3. Coconut - 1 cup
  4. Jaggery - 3/4 cup
  5. Elachi - 4

Instructions

  1. For the thenga pooranam, place grated coconut jaggery and elachi powder in a pan, with 2 tblsp of water. Mix in medium flame for 5 minutes, when it starts leaving the sides of pan, switch off the flame.
  2. Make small lemon sized balls and keep it ready of the puranam.
  3. Take each ball and immerse it in the batter, dip well so that it gets coated on all sides.
  4. In a Kadai,add some oil for deep frying add the above dipped balls and fry them.The balls might to stick to each other,Anyways we can seperate them after taking them out.
  5. Turn over and cook on both sides. Take them while they turn golden brown. Drain it in a tissue and enjoy your Suzkiyan.
