Ingredients to make Dudh Pabda /Indian butter fish cooked in milk gravy.

  • Pabda fish - 3
  • Milk - 1cup
  • onion seeds / kalonji- 1/2tsp
  • ginger Paste - 1 tsp
  • Tuemeric - 1/2tsp
  • Green chili - 2
  • salt - As required
  • sugar - 1/2 -1tsp

How to make Dudh Pabda /Indian butter fish cooked in milk gravy.

  1. Marinate fish with little salt and turmeric.then heat kadai with 2tbsp mustard oil and fry fish both sides. Do not over fry.
  2. Use the same fish fry pan for making curry..Add onion seeds ,slit green chili
  3. Then add ginger paste ,turmeric, salt to taste.Add 2tbsp water .stir well for a minute.
  4. Then add 1cup milk..give a nice stir..bring to bubble. Then turn down flame .cover pan .simmer it for 3mins.
  5. Then add fried fish .immerse fish into the milk gravy.add sugar and give a nice stir.
  6. Cover pan and again simmer it for 5mins or till milk gravy reduce little.
  7. Check seasoning...ready dudh pabda..serve it with steam rice..
