  4. So Let us start to prepare Fish curry.:-
  5. Grind dried red chillies, 5 garlic pods, 1 tsp chopped onion, coriander seeds, turmeric and coriander leaves with little water. Grind it very fine in a small size grinder ( chutney grinder) as shown below :
  6. Now transfer this paste into a big grinder along with the coconut. Add little water to adjust the consistency and again grind it well.
  7. Wash marinated fish 2 times in water and drain.
  8. Heat the heavy bottom vessel on a medium flame and add in 1 tbsp oil.
  9. Add 2 garlic pods in hot oil. when they turns golden brown add 1 tsp chopped onion.
  10. keep stiring. When onion turns dark brown, Immediately pour coconut-red chillies paste in it. Put the gas on simmer and place a lid on vessel.
  11. After 2 mins open the lid, add 4-5 kokam and water little by little, stir well. Curry should have slightly thick consistency and dark red colour so adjust the consistency.
  12. Add salt to test, stir well and let it cook on medium flame.
  13. Once d entire mixture reaches a boil, add 4-5 fish pieces to curry. Remaining fish pieces we will use for frying.
  14. Let curry cook on a medium flame for 5 mins, Garnish with coriander leaves on top and turn off d gas.
  15. Malwani Fish curry is ready.
  16. Now frying fish process :-
  17. Heat a pan. Spread 2 tbsp oil on pan or brush the fish pieces with oil and gently place it on the pan.
  18. Flip pieces after 2 mins and pour the fish curry generously over the fish pieces as well as in the pan .
  19. Let the fish cook till the pan gets dry,
  20. Then flip the fish and repeat d process of pouring fish curry.
  21. Let it cook for 2-3 mins.
  22. Serve hot garnished with a lemon slice. It tastes best with steamed rice with fish curry.
  23. Happy cooking. :)
