Ingredients to make Chinese rice porridge,Congee.

  • rice 1 cup
  • Boneless chicken pieces 2 cups
  • water 7 cups
  • ginger 1 big piece,
  • spring onion 1/2 cup
  • salt
  • White pepper 1/2 tsp

How to make Chinese rice porridge,Congee.

  1. Cook chicken in 3 cups of water,with some salt & 1/4 tsp of pepper. When cooked,remove chicken pieces & store the water.
  2. Cook rice in the same chicken stock ,along with 4 cups of plain water. Add salt & pepper. Cook well, on a low flame,as it s smashed a lot.
  3. Add spring onion,ginger,cut into julienne & cooked chicken pieces. Cook for another 5 minutes.
  4. Adjust salt,& if necessary, pepper.
  5. Serve hot.

My Tip:

This dish is made in different ways. We can add anything as base. Anyway a healthy & tasty dish.
