Ingredients to make Tel ' koi ' ( climbing perch )

  • Fish - 4 nos
  • oil - 1/2 cup
  • bay leaves - 1
  • red chilly while - 2
  • cumin - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • turmeric pwd - 1 tsp
  • cumin pwd- 1 tsp
  • red chilly powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala ( cinnamon, clove, cardamom)- 1/2tsp
  • ginger paste - 1/2tsp
  • Chopped tomato - 1 nos

How to make Tel ' koi ' ( climbing perch )

  1. 1 . Slit the fish as shown in the pics and smear with salt and turmeric powder.
  2. 2 . Fry in mustard oil and keep aside
  3. 3 . Add whole cumin seeds, bay leaf, and red chilly in same oil. Followed by tomato, ginger paste and all masalas except garam masala.
  4. 4 .cook for few minutes. Add water when oil separate out from masalas and boil for 2 minutes.
  5. 5 . Add fish once the gravy is made. Add garam masala and cover it.
  6. 6 . Fish is ready to serve after 5 minutes.
