Katla fish with methi leaves in yoghurt gravy . Tasty , healthy and easy .

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Katla fish / any other fish 6 pieces
  2. Methi leaves 1 1/2 cups
  3. Whole cumin seeds + fenugreek seeds 1/4 tsp
  4. Onion chopped 2
  5. Garlic and ginger paste 1 tsp
  6. yoghurt 1/2 cup
  7. Lemon juice 1/2 tsp
  8. Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  9. coriander powder 1 tsp
  10. Cumin powder 1 tsp
  11. chilli powder 1 tsp
  12. Water 1 cup

Instructions

  1. Wash fish , marinate with salt and turmeric powder for 15 mins
  2. Wash methi leaves , chop them , keep aside
  3. Heat oil for 3_4 mins
  4. Add fishes
  5. Fry both sides to brown
  6. Keep aside
  7. Now in the same pan add more oil
  8. Add whole cumin and methi seeds
  9. Fry onions until slightly brown
  10. Add garlic ginger paste
  11. Fry until the raw smell goes off
  12. Now add turmeric powder , cumin powder , coriander powder and chilli powder
  13. Saute for some time
  14. Add salt
  15. Now add yoghurt
  16. Mix and saute for 4_5 mins
  17. When oil starts separating from the masala add fried fish
  18. Add methi leaves and water
  19. Boil for 15_20 mins
  20. Check for salt
  21. Switch off gas
  22. Serve hot with phulka or steamed rice
