Ingredients to make Spinach and chana dal vada

  • Half a bunch of spinach
  • chana dal ( soaked for 4-5hours )
  • green chillies 3-4 no.
  • cumin seeds 1/2 tablespoon
  • ginger 1/2 inch
  • onion 1 midium
  • garlic 3-4 cloves
  • oil for dip frying
  • salt to taste
  • Termeric powder 1 teaspoon
  • chilly powder 1 Teaspoon

How to make Spinach and chana dal vada

  1. Grind the chana dal, ginger, cumin seeds, green chillies for a coarse paste.
  2. Wash the spinach and chop in to fine pieces.
  3. Now add the spinach into the paste and add salt, termeric powder, chilly powder, chopped onion and chopped garlic too.
  4. Take a fry pan and dip fry the paste into small vada size.
  5. Sprinkle a little black salt on top of the vadas and serve hot with any chatny or sauce.

My Tip:

Instead of vadas we can make niblets to make it more crispy and crunch effects. These can be prepared without onion and garlic.
