ABOUT Cranberry Lima beans Pulao RECIPE

Lima beans are called "Sem Phali" in Hindi and " Mochai" in Tamil. This pulao is rich in protein and nutrients. It tastes divine as well and can be made in 30-40 minutes for a romantic date night.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 cup Basmati Rice
  2. Half cup Lima beans
  3. Half cup chopped carrots and beans
  4. Half cup chopped potatoes
  5. Pinch of saffron
  6. Half cup cranberries and cashews
  7. Half cup chopped onion
  8. 3-4 green chillies
  9. 2 spoons cumin
  10. Mixed spices cardamom, javantri, star anise and bay leaf
  11. 2 spoons ghee
  12. 3-4 spoons oil
  13. 3 spoons yoghurt
  14. Few cloves
  15. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the basmati rice in a rice cooker with the saffron
  2. Take a kadai and heat oil add the spices and sauté for a minute
  3. Add the onions and vegetables and sauté for 5 minutes till the vegetables are semi cooked
  4. Take a blender and add chillies and curd with few cardamom and cloves
  5. Add this to the vegetables and cook for 5 minutes until the water is absorbed , add the salt at this stage
  6. Add the rice and sauté well
  7. Sauté some ghee and add the cranberries and cashews
  8. Add to pulao and serve
  9. Serve with raitha
