Ingredients to make Punugulu

  • 1/4 cup idly batter
  • 3/4 cup maida
  • 2 -3 tbsp rice flour
  • 1 small onion cut into small pieces
  • 1 green chilli cut into thin pieced
  • cumin 1 tsp
  • oil for Deep frying

How to make Punugulu

  1. Take idly batter add maida mix it well and leave it on counter top for 6 hrs to ferment
  2. After 6 hrs add cumin sliced onion,green chilli if required add little salt add rice flour and mix
  3. Take oil for deepfrying let it reach to smoking point add the batter with a spoon or with our hands
  4. Let them turn golden brown flip them in between obce they r brown on both sides remove from oil andcput them on tissues
  5. Serve with desired chutney and enjoy .u will surely not stop at one

My Tip:

This recipe is not one that has to be followed to tge mark u can adjust it see that batter is not runny. See tgat u mix ur maidaxis mixed very well orherwise they may burst in oil.
