ABOUT Shrewsbury biscuits RECIPE

These sinful,sweet,melt in mouth,crunchy biscuits are a perfect combo with tea.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Maida 1& 1/2 cups
  2. Butter 250gms
  3. Egg Yolks 4
  4. Castur sugar 1 cup
  5. Lemon zest of 2 lemons

Instructions

  1. In a big bowl take butter & castor sugar beat till soft, fluffy & turns off white in colour
  2. sieve in flour egg yolks & lemon zest & knead a soft but firm dough.
  3. Let the dough rest for abt 15 mins
  4. Pre heat oven at 220° for 10mins. Roll out dough on a floured surface into a 1/2 an inch thickness. Cut with a desired shape cookie cutter ( I used flower)
  5. Arrange in a lined baking tray & bake for 30 mins at 180°.
  6. After its baked leave it in the oven for 10 mins.
  7. Let it cool completely & store in an air tight jar/container.
