Palak Paneer

Ingredients to make Palak Paneer

  • Palak - 500 grams
  • Paneer - 200 grams (cut in cubes and fried)
  • Butter - 50 grams
  • Onion - 1 piece
  • Tomato - 3 pieces
  • Ginger - 1/2 inch piece
  • Dal chini powder- 2 pinches
  • Red Chilli Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Coriander (Dhaniya) Powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds(Jeera) - 1 teaspoon
  • Garam Masala - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt as per taste
  • Curd - 100 grams
  • For garnishing - Coriander leaves grated paneer
  • Ghee to fry the paneer

How to make Palak Paneer

  1. Wash the palak thoroughly and chop it.
  2. Boil the palak, tomatoes and ginger together in water along with a pinch of salt. Then let it cool and grind it in a mixer. Also grind the onion separately and make a paste of it.
  3. Heat butter in a pan, and add in the cumin seeds. Then add in the onion paste and cook, once it separates from the oil, pour in the curd and palak mixture and stir it well.
  4. Next add in the spices, dalchini powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, salt to taste and mix.
  5. After 2 minutes, put in the fried paneer pieces. Cover with a lid and let this dish cook for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Garnish with coriander leaves and grated paneer and serve hot with roti.
