Ingredients to make Gajar ka halwa

  • 2 cups grated carrot
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 2 cups fullfat milk
  • 100gms mithaimate
  • sugar (as per requirement)
  • cardamom 4-5
  • almonds for garnishing

How to make Gajar ka halwa

  1. In a deep bottom pan take ghee.
  2. When it becomes hot add grated carrot and fry for 10 mins.the carrot will leave its raw smell and give aa nice fragnance
  3. Add milk and let it come to a boil
  4. Then switch the gas flame to low and let it simmer for 15 mins
  5. Next add mithaimate and stir for another five mins.here if you want you can add sugar as per your taste.as mithaimate already has sugar so I didn't add.that much sweetness was enough for our taste.
  6. Now add cardamom powder and switch off the flame.
  7. Garnish with almonds or your favourite dry fruits and serve.
