RED BELL PEPPER HALWA

Ingredients to make RED BELL PEPPER HALWA

  • Red bell pepper puree-1/2 cup
  • Milk - 1/2 cup
  • sugar-1/4 cup
  • Grated dry coconut-1/4 cup
  • cardamom essence -1/2 tsp
  • ghee-1 tbsp
  • Rose water- 1 tsp
  • Beet powder-1/4 tsp(optional)
  • ghee-1 tbsp
  • pistachios for garnishing

How to make RED BELL PEPPER HALWA

  1. In a heavy bottom pan, heat ghee add bell pepper puree and sauté till the water dries up and raw smell goes off.
  2. Add milk,rose water,cardomom essence and beet powder cook for another few minutes then add sugar, mix well and cook till it starts boiling,add grated coconut stir continuously till the mixture starts leaving the pan and gets thick.
  3. Take it off the stove.Garnish with pistachios

My Tip:

Beetroot powder enhances flavor and color sugar can be substituted with jaggery or honey
