Green peas kachori

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For the dough:
  2. 2 cups wheat flour
  3. 1 cup all purpose flour
  4. 1.5 cup warm water
  5. 2tsp refined oil
  6. 1/2tsp salt
  7. For the filings:
  8. 1 cup frozen green peas thawed (200gms)
  9. 2 green chillies
  10. 1/2tsp salt
  11. 1/4tsp asafoetida
  12. 2tsp oil
  13. More oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Take a big bowl, add wheat flour, allpurpose flour, salt and blend well.
  2. Add oil and 1 cup of water and start kneading. Add more water if required.
  3. Once the dough is ready cover with a cling wrap or lid and let it rest for 30mins.
  4. For the fillings:
  5. In a mixer grinder roughly grind the peas, ginger, green chillies with salt.
  6. Heat a kadai, add 2tsp oil, add asafoetida and add the peas mixture and cook in medium flame until the mixture starts leaving the edges of the kadai.
  7. Bring the mixture to room temperature.
  8. Now take a lemon size ball from the dough and press with fingers and flatten it and make it into a bowl shape.
  9. Add 1tbs of peas filling, close the sides and roll it into a puri. Repeat for all.
  10. Deep fry until both the sides turns golden brown.
