Ingredients to make Methi aalu paratha

  • methi puree : 2 cup or as needed to knead the dough
  • Green chilli : 3-4 chopped
  • ginger : 1 tsp grated
  • wheat flour / Aata : 2 cups
  • potato : 3 boiled
  • onion : 1 chopped
  • Ajwain : 1 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • Red chilli powder to taste
  • oil : 1/4 cup
  • water : 1/4 cup (use water if needed)

How to make Methi aalu paratha

  1. For methi puree ~ add methi leaves, ginger and green chilli in a mixer. Add little water and beat it to a smooth puree.
  2. For methi aalu dough ~ Take dough in a bowl. Add onion, salt, red chilli powder, ajwain, oil and potato. Start mixing it properly till the texture of the dough becomes crumbly.
  3. Now add methi puree little by little and knead it to a smooth soft dough. Add very less water just to smoothen the dough (i used only 2 tbsp). Cover it with lid and keep it in fridge for 1 hr.
  4. Now heat tawa. Take a small ball from the dough. Roll it into a paratha. Place it on the tawa and cook both sides till crispy.
  5. Transfer it to a serving plate.
  6. And serve with butter or chutney.
