ABOUT Pheni/flaky parantha RECIPE

A very royal parantha relished with all kinds of curries dals etc.

Ingredients Serving: 1

  1. Maida 1cup
  2. Sooji 1/4cup
  3. Salt 1/2tsp
  4. sugar 1tsp
  5. Ghee 1 tbsp
  6. For cooking
  7. Ghee to shallow frying
  8. Ghee butter maida paste 1tbsp each

Instructions

  1. Mix maida, Sooji, salt, sugar and ghee
  2. Knead. A soft dough using required amount of water
  3. Keep it aside for half an hour
  4. Knead it for one more minute
  5. Divide into two and make balls
  6. On a well greased counter roll out a thin chapati as thin as you can
  7. Using a knife or a pizza cutter cut thin strips around 30-40
  8. With a greased knife collect all the strips into one long strip
  9. Make a knot with this strip and tuck the end
  10. Prepare both the balls
  11. On a plate flatten a knot using your fingers
  12. On a medium low hot skillet cook from both sides by applying some ghee
  13. Crush slightly the parantha between your palms and serve
