Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Spinach a bunch approx 1/2 kg
  2. 2 cups chana Dal
  3. 2 onions chopped
  4. 1 cup Tomato puree
  5. Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  6. Turmeric power a pinch
  7. Red chilli powder 2tbsp
  8. Salt to taste.

Instructions

  1. Soak chana dal in lukewarm water for half an hour.
  2. Blanche spinach and keep it aside
  3. Pressure cook chana dal for 10 mins and let it cool.
  4. Take a kadhai put some oil add cumin seed and let it sputter. Add the chopped onions and ginger garlic paste and saute for sometime.
  5. Add the tomato puree and cook it well. Meanwhile blend the cooked chana dal and Blanched spinach in a blender.
  6. Add the blended mix in the kadhai and cook well.
  7. Add some water if you feel that the saag is thick to get the desired consistency. Serve with makka ki roti.
