Ingredients to make Bisibelibath With Crispy Potatoes

  • Toor dall- 1 cup
  • Sona masoori rice-1 cup
  • Vegetable of our choice like onions, tomatoes, carrot, brinjal, peas
  • salt- as per taste
  • turmeric- 1 tsp
  • masala chilli powder- 3 tsp
  • Sambhar powder- 1 tbsp
  • tamarind juice squeezed from lemon size tamarind
  • butter- 100 gms
  • curry leaf- little
  • cashew nuts- 1 tbsp or more
  • coriander leaves- fist full

How to make Bisibelibath With Crispy Potatoes

  1. In a pressure cooker add toor dal, rice, salt, turmeric, chilli powder, veggies, Tamarind juice, Sambhar powder and coriander leaves
  2. Add 6 cups of water and pressure cook for 3 whistles
  3. Remove from heat and add seasoning with butter along with cashew nuts, mustard seeds, urid dal, channa dal, red chilles, cumin seeds
  4. Our yummy bisibelibath is ready.
  5. For crispy potatoes, pressure cook potatoes for 1 whistle and then peel the skin and cut into desired size chunks and shallow fry in non stick pan and add seasoning at the last.
  6. Our instant dinner party is ready to serve

My Tip:

Always add 1 :3 ratio for rice to water.
