Onion Butter Uttapam

Ingredients to make Onion Butter Uttapam

  • Dosa batter - at least 12 ladles
  • Onion sliced thin - 3 onions
  • green chilly - 2 cut fine
  • coriander leaves - for garnishing
  • salt to taste
  • butter - cut into small cubes ( 2 to 3 tbsp ) adjust to taste
  • oil - 1 tbsp

How to make Onion Butter Uttapam

  1. Take the batter It should be sour. Add salt & water and bring to required consistency
  2. Now take a non stick tawa & heat it
  3. When hot reduce flame & pour a laddle full of batter & spread it in circular motion.
  4. Now sprinkle sliced onions and green chilly over it.
  5. Put chopped Coriander leaves also. Drizzle oil
  6. Add butter cubes to it. let it cook
  7. Then flip the uttapam & let it cook on low to medium flame till nice & crisp. Drizzle little oil if required. The onion slices will turn brown.
  8. Turn off the gas & serve hot with chutney or sambhar
