  9. Butter to brush the top
  10. 1/4 cup finely chopped coriander leaves
  11. 1/4 cup shredded paneer
  12. Red chilli powder for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Firstly we will prepare a dough for the naan.Seive 2 cups of whole wheat flour in a vessel.
  2. Make a well in the centre and add youghurt, oil, baking soda, baking powder, sugar and salt to taste.
  3. Mix everything well and knead to a soft pilable dough.Knead till the surface of the dough is smooth.
  4. Next grease it very well with oil to avoid drying and cover with a damp muslin cloth and keep aside for 30 minutes or so.
  5. Next chop the garlic cloves and coriander leaves finely and keep aside.
  6. Now its time to prepare naan.Remove the muslin cloth and knead again for a minute or two to make it smooth.
  7. Next take a medium sized ball from the dough and start rolling the naan.
  8. Half way through stop and sprinkle chopped garlic, coriander leaves, nigella seeds, shredded paneer and red chilli powder on the rolled dough.
  9. Press it lightly all over with rolling pin and roll the whole naan into oblong shape.
  10. Now heat a iron tawa till its smoking hot on high flame.
  11. Next brush some water on the other side of the naan(side where garlic is not applied)
  12. Now lightly place the naan on the hot tawa with the watered side touching the surface of the tawa.
  13. Let it cook on high flame and when bubbles appear on the naan reduce the flame to low.Cook for 10 to 15 seconds on low flame.
  14. Next increase the flame to high and invert the naan over open flame and cook evenly rotating the tawa all over till brown spots appear on surface.
  15. Scrape off the naan from the tawa and apply generous quantity of butter.
  16. Serve hot with your favourite north indian curry.
