Ingredients to make Kesar Kalakand.

  • I can : Sweetend condensed milk
  • 500 gm : paneer
  • 2 tbsp : Milk powder
  • 1 tsp : Kesar/ saffron strands
  • 2 tbsp : warm water
  • Pinch yellow food colour(optional)
  • 3 tbsp : Chopped pistachios
  • 1 tsp : cardamom powder

How to make Kesar Kalakand.

  1. Mix saffron in warm water and leave aside for 10 minutes. Wait till water changes it colour to yellow-orange.
  2. Mash or crumble paneer coarsely and mix in milk powder, yellow food colour, saffron water and condensed milk.
  3. Heat the mixture in a thick bottomed pan.Cook the mixture on a medium heat with constant stirring till it becomes thick and starts leaving the sides of the pan.
  4. Remove from heat add the crushed cardamom powder and spread it on to a greased plate.
  5. Allow it to cool and set at room temperature for atleast 2 hours.
  6. Cut into cubes , garnish with chopped pistachios and kesar(optional)
  7. Yummy and mouth melting kesar kalakand is all dressed up to brighten your days. Make and enjoy.

My Tip:

Use good quality non stick pan for cooking and ensure to stir constantly as it sticks to the pan within seconds.
