Bedmi puri is a popular street snack of Delhi, Agra and Mathura. Soft and crispy Bedmi puri tastes its best when paired with Aloo masala.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 2.5 cups : Wheat flour
  2. 1/2 cup : Rice flour
  3. 1/4 cup : Urad dal
  4. 2 tsp : Fennel seeds
  5. 2 tsp : Carom seeds
  6. 1 tbsp : Ginger paste
  7. 3 tbsp : Coriander powder
  8. 1/2 tsp : Asoefetida
  9. 3 tbsp : Red chilli powder
  10. 1 tsp : Turmeric
  11. 3 tsp : Dry mango powder
  12. Salt to taste
  13. Oil for frying
  14. Few sprigs cilantro chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak the dal for 3 to 4 hours. After soaking drain and grind the dal to a coarse grainy paste.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients mentioned to the dal and mix well. By adding warm water little by little knead into a soft and non sticky dough.
  3. Meanwhile start heating up the oil for frying on a medium high heat.
  4. Divide the dough into small portions and roll out each ball into a 1/4 inch thick round disc.
  5. Fry them in moderately hot oil until puffed up and slightly golden.
  6. Drain on to a paper towel and serve them hot with Rasa wale Aloo sabzi.
  7. Perfect meal for cozy weekends.Make and enjoy.
