Ingredients to make Gujrati Padwa Roti

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 1 tsp salt
  • lukewarm water as needed
  • ghee for applying
  • some wheat flour for dusting

How to make Gujrati Padwa Roti

  1. first take flour in a deep bowl add salt and mix it
  2. make a well and then add ghee into it and mix properly
  3. now make a soft dough by using lukewarm water and let it to rest for 10 mins
  4. after 10 mins grease dough with ghee or oil and heat a griddle on medium heat
  5. take a small portion of dough and roll a very thin chapati from it
  6. apply ghee on its upper surface , sprinkle some dry flour and keep aside
  7. now again make a same sized chapati and cover first chapati with this second one
  8. again roll it to stick together
  9. put it on hot tawa and roast till bubbles appear on upper surface then turn it and roast it from both side and keep aside
  10. now tear the chapati to separate both chapatis and apply ghee on inner side of both
  11. make all the chapati in same manner, serve hot with mango pulp and any gravies of your choice

My Tip:

always make soft dough for soft roti and serve with loads of ghee
