Ingredients to make Jowar Ke Puya (Sweet Puri)

  • 1 cup jowar Atta (flour)
  • 1/2 cup gur (jaggery)
  • 1/4 teaspoon elaichi powder (cardamom)
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasame seeds (til)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • water for dough making- As required

How to make Jowar Ke Puya (Sweet Puri)

  1. Heat the water and add gur, then stir till it melts. Keep it aside for cooling
  2. Combine all the materials in a bowl and make a soft dough by using gur water.
  3. Make 4 small balls and flattened them with palms and fingers (do not use rolling pin)
  4. Heat sufficient oil in a heavy bottom pan. Deep-fry until dark brown.
  5. Drain it on an absorbent paper, and serve hot with mango pickle.
