ABOUT Makki Ki Roti RECIPE

An authentic punjabi bread eaten in winters with sarsoo ka saag

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Makki atta- 1 and 1/2 cup
  2. Wheat flour 1/2 Cup
  3. Shredded radish 1
  4. Ginger Chopped 1 inch
  5. Onion Chopped 1
  6. Green Onions - Chopped 4
  7. Ajwain - 2 tsp
  8. Rock salt - 1 tsp
  9. Salt - 2 tsp
  10. Green chillies - 2 chopped
  11. Amchur powder- 1 tsp
  12. Anardana powder - 1 tsp.
  13. Ghee - 3 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Mix all the ingredients except ghee and make a dough with water.
  2. Take some dough and roll it in a circle.
  3. Put it on hot tawa and cook it pressing from both sides.
  4. Take out from tawa and cook it on fire till the roti is properly cooked.
  5. Apply ghee on it.
  6. Make other rotis in similar manner.
  7. Serve them hot with sarsoo ka saag and gur/jaggery.
