Ingredients to make Matar Paneer Paratha.

  • For the Green paratha layer- 2 cups wheat flour
  • 1 cup Frozen/fresh peas
  • 1/2 cup - coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder
  • 4 green chillies
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 1 tsp Carom seeds
  • salt to taste
  • For the stuffing - 2 cups Grated paneer
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp chaat masala
  • Few sprigs chopped coriander
  • ghee for frying

How to make Matar Paneer Paratha.

  1. In a bowl add wheat flour, carom seeds, salt , coriander powder and mix well.
  2. To a blender jar add peas, ginger, green chillies, coriander leaves and grind into a smooth paste adding water as required.
  3. Add the ground paste to wheat flour and mix well until incorporated. By adding water(if required) knead this into a soft paratha dough.
  4. Smear a tsp of oil over the dough and let rest it for 10 mins.
  5. For the stuffing - Add grated paneer, chopped coriander leaves, chili powder, chaat masala , salt to a bowl and mix well.
  6. Divide the dough into 10 to 12 portions stuff each dough ball with paneer stuffing seal their edges.
  7. Dusting with dry flour as required roll this into a paratha.
  8. Fry on medium high heat until golden spots appear by smearing with ghee to preference.
  9. Serve the yummy parathas with your favorite pickle and yoghurt.
  10. Satisfying and healthy meal loaded with protein and calcium ready to hogg on !

My Tip:

Thaw the peas in microwave if using frozen kind. All the spices are according to our pallette please adjust them to your taste. You can also add anardhana/ amchur powder to the stuffing for extra tartness.
