Alsi/Flaxseed Pinni

Ingredients to make Alsi/Flaxseed Pinni

  • Alsi powder / flax seed powder - 1 cup
  • wheat flour - 1 cup
  • jaggery- 1 Cup
  • water - 1/2 cup
  • Nuts -1/2 cup (almonds, cashewnuts, pista, raisins)
  • Unsalted butter - 100 gram
  • elaichi powder - 1 tsp

How to make Alsi/Flaxseed Pinni

  1. In heavy bottom kadai dry roast wheat flour till brown. Transfer it to a bowl and keep aside.
  2. In same kadai dry roast alsi powder. Transfer it to another bowl and keep aside.
  3. Now in same kadai melt butter on low flame. Add alsi powder roast it for few minutes. Add dry fruits. Mix well on low flame.
  4. Now add wheat flour and elaichi powder. Mix well on low flame.
  5. In heavy bottom pan add jaggery and water. Heat it on high flame till all the jaggery is melted and syrup forms one string consistency. Switch off the flame.
  6. Immediately pour jaggery syrup in alsi wheat flour mixture. Mix all the mixture very well on slow flame. Switch off the flame. Cool it for few mins.
  7. When warm make small pinni from the mixture. Place it on a plate. Keep aside for 1-2 hr to set.
  8. Serve with glass of warm milk.
