Tingmo ( Tibetan Bread From The hills of Sikkim)

Ingredients to make Tingmo ( Tibetan Bread From The hills of Sikkim)

  • all purpose flour 1 1/2 cup
  • sugar 4 teaspoon
  • Milk 3/4 cup
  • yeast 2 teaspoon
  • oil 1 tablespoon
  • salt a pinch
  • Baking powder 1/2 tablespoon

How to make Tingmo ( Tibetan Bread From The hills of Sikkim)

  1. Add sugar and yeast to warm milk and leave it for 10 minutes
  2. Take all the other ingredients in a bowl.
  3. Make a well in the the flour mixture and add the yeast milk solution
  4. Knead it to a soft dough and leave it to rest for 1 hour
  5. Once the dough has doubled in size make small balls and roll into long ropes
  6. Roll them like cinnamon rolls or as seen in image
  7. Let it rest for 10 minutes
  8. Steam them in a steamer for 20 minutes
  9. Serve with any curry and red chilli sauce
