ABOUT Gajar Ka Halwa RECIPE

A very simple yet tasty Gajar ka halwa. It is a classic Indian dessert

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Carrot - 1kg
  2. Milk - 1/2 liter
  3. Sugar 3-4tbsp
  4. Kesar-elaichi powder - 1/2 tsp
  5. Chopped nut and kismish as per choice

Instructions

  1. Wash peel and grate the carrots (I used food processor)
  2. In a pan take a tsp of ghee just to grease the pan and add grated carrot. (You may squeeze out excess juice of carrots to speed up the roasting and use the extract later for cooking it further)
  3. Roast the carrot till it changes its colour.add the extracted juice and milk and cook till done.
  4. Add sugar and when you see very little moisture add nuts and kesar elachi powder. Mix well and cook stirring continuously at this point. Cook till you see no moisture oozing out of halwa.
  5. Remove in serving bowl garnish with nuts and serve hot or cold as you love
