Sooji Poori and Potato Curry

ABOUT Sooji Poori and Potato Curry RECIPE

Poori is all time favourite for all the age groups. It is unleavened deep fried bread which can be made very easily.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Wheat flour- 2 cups
  2. Water- 1/2cup
  3. Milk- 1/4 th cup
  4. Sooji- 1/4 th cup
  5. Salt- As per your taste
  6. Oil- to deep fry
  7. For Potato Curry- 3-4 big Poatatoes
  8. 1 large onion (sliced)
  9. 1 tsp turmeric powder
  10. 1 green chilli (sliced)
  11. salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Mix wheat flour, sooji, water, milk, salt and prepare a tight dough. Add oil on top of the dough and cover it with a wet cloth till we are ready to fry .
  2. Flatten the dough balls in a poori press maker and drop them into hot oil .
  3. Fry on 2 sides and drain them on a kitchen paper towel.
  4. For traditional potato curry , pressure cook potatoes for 5 whistles.in a pan, fry thinly sliced onions and green chilies after seasoning. Add turmeric and salt and cook for 5 mins.
  5. Now add boiled and peeled potatoes ( mashed) to the onion mixture and add little water to get thick consistency and cook for about 10 to 15 minutes.
  6. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with hot poori
